It is probably unintentional, but the (Windows) Unity editor often steals the focus. Specially during asset bundle building or importing. Very annoying to be interrupted while typing something. Extra annoying if you where just hitting enter which cancels the build of one specific asset bundle out of a thousand.
Focus stealing can’t be disabled on OS level since Windows Vista, but I’d like to see a world where no Windows application is ever stealing focus.
This has come back in 2018.3.6, at least on a mac. Building a project steals focus every second so it effectively locks up the machine until it’s done (about an hour).
This is highly disruptive like @jvo3dc described. Since there is no traction here shouldn’t we report a bug and let people vote on that in the issue tracker?
The last time I submitted a bug, they asked for my 10gb project (for a non-project related bug) and the issue tracker is being shut down. Consider this thread a place to vent and not much more.
The issue tracker is not being shut down as far as I know, but the feedback site is. So please do post a bug if you can on a cut down project.
Issue tracker is for bugs while feedback site is for new features (which is now on this forum, so just prefix any posts with feedback and the forum software will shovel this in front of staff).
