EKI One AI Middleware - Unity integration

Check it out y’all.

I read that article yesterday. Looks very interesting!

this has already been posted.

Ok just saw it.
Well the post is obscure and kinda misleading - EKI One is more than pathfinding.

Great to see Unity extended bit by bit, a plugin here a new asset there, a new editor script here …

Third party AI solutions have been on many a wish list for a while now.

Hot News: We will ship EKI One v2.6 with Unity SDK on 20th of May. We will introduce a new pricing model. Furthermore we especially support indie game developers.

I just checked this out after reading some stuff over on aigamedev. I look forward to seeing the new integration and indie licensing!

I see that 2.6 is out, but what about the new pricing? Having to fill out a form makes me think it’s upwards of $1k - is that about right?

Please have a look at http://www.ekione.com as well as http://www.shop.ekione.com.

You can download a free trial there.

So it will not come free to use for pro licensees? Damn disappointing.

?!?!

This has nothing to do with UT and it was mentioned already when the AI stuff was first mentioend by UT that it will not be EKI One.

Back on topic: Looks very interesting and the upcoming stuff is definitely usefull too

So any info on pricing?

Go to the page linked above and click on the links through to shop or the second one that goes there directly and you will see €99 per project for indie, €999 for non indie  (both + applicable VAT / Taxes)

99euros per project? Sweet. Might buy

the per project is at least my understanding as it has no “per seat” reference and alike.

The whole license is pretty well hidden, haven’t found it so far, only a note on which of the licenses would apply if I had found them on the page

According to http://www.ekione.com/licensing/

The 99euros Indie license do support “Unlimited number of projects”.

The 99€ is per seat.
The only thing I did not understand is the mention of “retail games only”, in the small print.
Could that potentially deny, free webgames that are commercialized by microtransactions/advertisment?

Thanks

the license is per seat
and Indie version only supports WinX at the moment.
The full has also a server version onboard.
We will port the indie version also to MacOs/iOs platform, which we are going to offer for the indie version.

I’ve downloaded the eval and while I’ve had a few issues it has been great so far working through the tutorials. I haven’t the faintest idea how to actually integrate it with Unity though!

Anyone had any success with this yet and can point me to a tutorial/guide?

Is there a ETA for the MacOS version?

You´ll find the Unity Intergration within your installation folder:
