im wondering if anyone over here has tried unity android with an Elonex eTouch Android Tablet, because they look like a cool device, a very good and cheap android tablet… and definately sounds like a fun device to develop for
A quick google search (‘elonex etouch arm’) lists multiple sources stating it’s an ARM11 CPU (and not Cortex/ARMv7); i.e. currently not supported. That is however something we plan to add, at least for the more powerful ARM11 (ARMv6 w/ VFP (floating point instructions)); whether this device will then be supported is unclear (didn’t find any data on exactly what type of ARM11, neither OpenGLES capabilities, it has).
oh, thanks for your quick answer, after some research, it seems that Elonex pad has the exact same specs as the chinese zenithink zt180 known as the ePad…
lets hope unity android support this kind of devices in the future
Be warned - The Elonex eTouch 10" doesn’t support OpenGLES (well not the games I tried) and it doesn’t have an accelerometer that measures movement only horizontal/vertical positioning. Also its is dog slow at doing anything.
Mine has been returned until something better than this, but cheaper than the Galaxy Tab comes along…
