Blod just wants a boring desk job. Boss is an environmentalist with other ideas. He assigns Blod to command a mission to a nearby planet with the (rather silly) name of “Earth”, in the hope of preventing the primitive inhabitants (with the equally silly name of “human”) from going extinct. An Interactive Fiction / Adventure game in which you play the part of Blod.
Having retired after nearly 40 years working in industrial control software, I wanted a fun software challenge. So I decided to learn how to program for my SteamVR system – I mean: how hard can it be? I soon realised I needed a real goal, and so decided to create an adventure style game based on a YouTube video series I had created during the Covid restrictions. I also discovered a large part of the work was researching how to do things, and so I’ve started recording a set of “how to” videos:
