EndCiv is a free-to-play online economic simulation in an end-time scenario. We intend to publish it for the browser and the iPad, other plattforms will follow.
The world has been destroyed, and you are tasked with re-civilizing Earth while competing and cooperating with other players. You must expand your empire and re-create the technology standard of the old world. You can re-introduce world-wide communication, a global market, establish ship and air transportation, or try to introduce global politics. You can choose between an aggressive or peaceful style of play.
You can build cities in the style of realtime RTSs by placing single buildings which need to be constructed. You can produce troops and do research. Fighting, trading and any interactions with other players will be done on a map view showing all the cities of one region of the world. A step further, there is the Globe presented like GoogleEarth. There you will be able to see ship and air traffic and the distribution of all the cities at night through their lights. We have several ideas for this sort of end-time world simulation.
The world is tiled into areas and each of them provides diferent types of play, resources and buildings.
There is a “classic” badlands bandit environment named Conflict Zone, easy to build flatlands in the New World and a very unfriendly terrain at the Danger Zone with toxic air, so people need to live in isolated structures. It is not intended to build cities in the eastside, but rather to grab rare resources from it.
Here is a quick concept:
This project now extended to be more mmo as we first wanted, but basicly it is still a very manageble project for us as we have experience in Unity and online game production as well.
