Well, my trial ran out so I decided to go ahead and purchase Unity with iPhone support. I received my serial number but I don’t see anywhere to enter it in. When I launch Unity, it tells me that the trial expired. I click Register where it takes me to a Activation screen. Attempting to do an Internet Activation fails with the message:
The internet activation server returned an error (-31070). I went the manual activation route but have not had a response from Unity (granted its only been a day so I can’t be angry at all about that).
So, I’m I doing something wrong. Is there someplace I can enter a serial number in somewhere? I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both Unity and PACE to no avail.
Hope someone can help. I’m really anxious to dive in.
Hmm that seems weird. Could you make a bug with a license request file, then I’ll make sure it gets on the plate of the guy who’s doing the activation stuff first thing tomorrow.
I searched through the PACE site and consistently saw somethine along the lines of “if you are behind a proxy, take your machine somewhere else to activate” (or something similar to that). It’s not a laptop and in fact the wife doesn’t even now I have it (yes, I am a bad boy :-)) so moving it really isn’t an option.
I wish these activate apps and other utilities allowed you to enter proxy info. I come from the Windows world and am just now getting into Macs so I’m surprised that Macs don’t have a global proxy server setting similar to Windows WinInet library (though some apps, not many though, use straigh sockets)
You can find a global proxy setting in OSX if you go to System Preferences->Network->“Advanced…”(Button)->Proxies
There you find your usual proxy settings…
Yeah, that is set. Now that I think about it, the error message does say the activation server responded with an error (-31070). Anyone know what that error code means? Might help me troubleshoot it. Also, does anyone know if they make an applicatio similar to Fiddler for the Mac.
I’m jumping in late here just because I don’t like folks not being able to activate. If things continue to fail then please follow the instructions for Manual Activation and send me the *.ilr file that’s created along with your serial number (use PMs or email, don’t post that here in the thread of course). With those in hand I can manually activate you right away so you can get up and running.
Edit: nevermind the above request as I’ve been alerted to your submitted bugs. Stand by.
Edit #2: check your email, I’ve manually activated you and sent along instructions.
Hi, seems an old subject, but I am having the same error and wish to know If it is solved.
I have requested a lic number for the Pro trial, and get this error.
