At this point I’d be happy to just have an option to turn off built-in categories that I’m not involved with in a project.
Would also be nice to be able to turn on the experimental context menu that worked fine for most users anyway.
would love this for shaders too
I like to hate on maya, and autodesk deserve it for many reasons but it has some nice ux stuff that just makes sense that unity completely lacks.
Like here, there are icons for menu items and menu items are given colors that align with what feature they are related to. It makes it so much easier on the eyes to quickly find what I’m looking for, and its all subconscious because my mind doesn’t have to “read” a million items, it can ignore colors or icons and quickly narrow things down.
Also the highlighting of new features is genuinely useful.
exactly. zero colors and zero icons are both terrible design decisions that were celebrated as an aesthetic philosophy. Choosing the wrong one: Jonny Ive instead of Dieter Rams.
+1 What even happened to the experimental ones
These two posts explain it.
