Error on startup of fresh unity install

Upon opening unity, The launcher window greys out and prints this in the background, yet i can’t seem to find any way of fixing the error by searching.

I’m also getting the same error on a fresh install, Unity 2017.1.0f3.
I wonder if it’s because our windows usernames contain spaces?

Same thing happening here.
Also got a space in my windows username.
Running Windows 10 with Unity 2017.1.0f3.

Here are a few things that i’ve tried and didn’t fix the problem:
-Running as administator didn’t fix it.
-Running in Windows 7/8 Compatibility mode didn’t fix it.
-Nothing from Unity3d 5.3 Not working - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions fixes it for me.
-Reinstalling didn’t fix the problem.
-Deleting all Unity folders in Appdata didn’t fix the problem.

I can confirm that the problem is the space in our Windows usernames.
With windows 10, i went to:
-Settings
-Accounts
-Family & other people
-Add someone else to this PC
-I don’t have this person’s sign-in information
-Add a user without a Microsoft account
-I called the user “Test”
-Logged in using the created user
-Opened Unity within the created user’s account
Because you’re required to have a First AND Last name with a Microsoft account, i don’t know how it’s even possible to log in with a Microsoft account and not run into this problem.
Ofcourse this solution is really inconvenient, since every time i want to use Unity, i have to change user to “Test”. While this isnt ideal, it’s definitely better than not being able to use Unity at all.

Hi, same problem…
Before the installation, I had the version “Unity 5.5.1f1 (64-bits)”. The new version ran well the first time (I ran the game of the car), and then the application did not run any more… please help!
I run it on a Microsoft Surface 4 i5-6300 2.4GHz with 4gb.
Regards…

Alguien ya pudo solucionarlo?

Hi Raenton & ukgamer,

The issue was caused by the space in username. Now it was fixed. Can you try again?

Thanks.

Looks like it’s working now, thanks!
