Hi,

I’m trying to purchase an asset on the store but I get this error on checkout.

"Error
We are currently unable to validate the VAT number. Please try again later."

There is nothing wrong with my VAT number,.

I guess the EU website that the store uses to check VAT numbers is being maintained, or something like that.

Hi, it’s been a few weeks since my first post. I still get the same VAT error, I cannot purchase on the store.

Did you try it at the linked site cause it needs to work here

Yes it does not work. The system is broken.

Unity, please allow me to remove my VAT number so I can purchase assets.

I just this minute paid for something in Euros on the Asset Store. It worked fine.

Yeah, but not sure you have a VAT number.

Well if it did not work at the EU VIES site either then it’s not probably properly registered by your local authorities or something else is messed up related to that.

My checks at VIES tell me the details from 8Infinite8 are correct, and have suggested changes he can try on his Unity account. (So I think VIES has changed some things for reasons I can’t work out.)

I’ve purchased dozens of assets in the past. There is nothing wrong with my VAT number. The first thing I tried was to alter my VAT number in my Unity account but the VAT input box is greyed out for some reason?

Yeah which is the reason why asked did it work there or not and assumed you answered to that :slight_smile:
