Error when opening Unity 4

Hi,

I’ve just downloaded and installed Unity 4 on Windows 7 64-bit.

When I open it, it returns the following error:

Opening file library metadata/00/00000…
failed: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I tried opening it “As Administrator” but still I get the same error.

It sounds like you have two instances of unity running or something may have gotten corrupted in the Library folder.

In the task manager click on the Process Tab and look to see if unity.exe is running and force it to quit. If that doesn’t work navigate to the project folder you are trying to open when unity is starting up and delete the Library folder inside. This should force re-import all the assets in the project.
