errors when deleting assets

My main game project is 3.6 GB, impossible to load from a DVD, so I decided to delete some parts of it, and just
import the small pieces I actually need of those plugins. I deleted JMO particles and Skele character editor and got these errors.

Assets/sharedassets0.asset(1,3): error CS8025: Parsing error

Assets/sharedassets0.asset(1,1): BCE0044: unexpected char: 0x0.

When I copied JMO particles and skele back in from my backup, the errors disappeared. How do fix this?

Then they came back.

All 3 projects (even the one I deleted from) lost that error after reimporting assets, 45 minutes each, shouldn’t happen.

I’m screwed, any addition or subtraction of files from my project generates the errors. Sharedassets0.asset file size
never changes
