Euros vs Dollars

Hi Guys Gals of the forums,

I’ve just purchased my first asset pack from the store and the default currency of USD was converted to EUR, not really helpful considering I live in UK. After contacting support and receiving no help here’s some information for you!

The fun arose when I noticed the inflation in prices:
Mixamo Toon Character Pack currently on sale = USD 75 now EUR 71.25
With the current exchange rate at USD 1.00 to EUR 0.716 should be EUR 53.76, it’s surprising and unfortunate to see these prices rise by nearly 25% (30% after Tax).

So to those of you paying Euros and looking to make a couple of more-expensive purchases from the asset store, you may want to look at seeing if it’s worth booking a holiday to USA and avoid the exchange rate price hikes and see if you can get a holiday for the same price!

To Unity: If you really expect the Euro prices “to resemble the $ prices as closely as possible” you may want to have a look at the exchange rates! And converting a price to a different currency because it’s a closer country is Idiotic! Why not just convert everything to Rubles or Yen? It’s not the right currency but they’re close though… right?

Buying from the Asset Store inside the Euro zone means you have to pay VAT at the rate of 25% hence the price difference.

These are the prices BEFORE Tax, hence “30% after Tax”.

Is that true? That’s pretty insane. What’s the difference for purchasing pro?

he’s correct…

Also you’re not going to get the exchange rate from any store.

Think about it this way… for every extra pound you pay, you help to make unity stronger

Unity stronger = more staff, more features, destruction of our enemies!!

This again. First time buying anything online?

First time from the Asset store, yes (as stated), first time online, no.

If you don’t have a problem with this and think it doesn’t need to be remedied then go knock yourself out and pay the extra. Aside from that, keep your child like comments to yourself, your attempts at humour fall short even for a Scot, maybe I’ll find a use for you if you’ve got something useful to add.

Haha I make child like comments and you resort to using my nationality as an insult. Maybe my attempt at humour was lacking but at least I’m not english.

So it isn’t your first time buying online, great. Still assuming its the first time you’ve actually been made aware of it. Why do you think everything is more expensive in Europe? VAT is applied even when you pop down to Asda but because you didn’t see what it would have cost in dollars pre-VAT there’s less reason to complain.

Go ahead and remedy it. Submit your proposal for change on VAT to the EU. Then enjoy tax hikes across the board.
