So, I’m using Unity 5.4 on a new windows 10 laptop (6th gen i7 up to 3.50GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX960M 4GB and 16gb RAM). I used to run some previous verion of Unity on a laptop with an i3 processor and I didn’t have any particullar issues. It was heavy but I could run it. But now, with the two latest versions of Unity (5.3 and 5.4) once I do something on my project (moslty terrain raising) i get up to 98% CPU usage…
How can I fix this? Thanks in advance…
I fixed my CPU usage problem by uninstalling Unity and installing the 32-bit version. I had the issue only with the 64-bit installation. I know it’s only a partial solution but it will work for me until they fix it.
@lgaroche, Thank you so much for your solution. It worked for me and the CPU idle usage dropped from whopping 43% to 5-0.2%. I had already tried too many other ‘solutions’. I also had let go the idea of developing on the go with my lightweight laptop but now it is really possible. No need to buy new larger-than-life-battery laptop. Great! Have a great autumn
