Experience with the iPhone limitations

Hi,

I’d love to hear some of your experiences with the iPhone limitations, beyond things like “no shaders” or the triangle limitations. For instance:

  • Are you happy with blob shadows? Or are even those an imposition on the iPhone specs?
  • Did you have to strip out physics (or anything else) in order to use less memory? Did it help at all?
  • Was there an area where you had to cut corners that you hadn’t originally planned on?

Music is the biggest limitation for me right now. Unity iPhone only supports .WAV files and they are, of course, too big to use for anything more than a few seconds of audio.

If I try to play back Wav files larger than about 6MB my iPhone app crashes/locks-up.
