I have been playing around with the particle system in Unity to learn it, and ended up making this explosion effect. Let me know what you think!

It does indeed look pretty good. I think the smoke is a bit too dark and it gives it a bit of a cartoony feel, but probably seeing it in a realistic environment will remove that effect.
Yeah i see what you mean :), haven’t tested it in a environment yet but hopefully it looks more realistic then.
I could see it in a game like team fortress:
