export animation from 3ds max

Hi,

I am new with unity and 3ds max. I created a rat and a walking motion. I have followed the unity information to import animations. I have tried it with FBX and a normal max file.

When I look under animation it doesn’t show anything. I know I am supposed to tell it the frames that contain the different animations, but is there a way to tell that there is any animation what so ever? It seems no matter which way I import it to unity or export from 3ds max the walking animation is not present.

How do I fix this, thanks very much.

Suspect you are using FBX 2011 exporter, select 2010 in the FBX options panel when it pops up and all should be OK.

I am using 3ds max 2010…

I did try a different version for FBX but that didn’t seem to work.

I followed this tutorial. http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Manual/Character-Animation.html

I dont know what I am doing wrong.

when U want To Export

u Select Export FBX OPTION 3DSMAX

ANIMATION ----->>>BAKE ANIMATION CHECK
ADVANCE OPTION—>>AXIS CONVERSION —>>>UP AXIS CHOOSE —>>>>ZUP FBX FORMAT---->> 2010

THEN EXPORT

remember that you have to setup the animations inside unity as well. basicly the name, the type and start/end frame.
