Export to FBX not working

Unity 2019.3.13f1, FBX exporter 3.1.0

select cube in hierarchy>rmb>Export to FBX>set directory>export

No file is created. Same with Convert to FBX linked Prefab.

Anyone else having trouble with this?

I have abandoned the File>Unity>Export for a few reasons:

  • creates namespaces on export - continues to add namespaces on each export eg: export2:export1:cube_geo
  • creates locked selection sets which cannot be deleted
  • regardless of directory specified in dialogue Unity stores the linked fbx in the asset directory
  • does not refresh in Unity after re-export from Maya - this is probably due to it changing directories

Game Exporter works fine and updates Unity automatically - no namespaces required.
