How do I export from Sketchup for use with Unity? There is no option to export as an FBX or OBJ.

I use sketchup from time to time, and the way I do it is I have the Pro trial for sketchup, so I just create the things in the free copy, and then export them in the pro trial because there is an 8 hour time limit on the pro trial.
In the pro trial you can export in the file menu.
It would be nice if unity could use sketchup files. : D
Export as collada, import in blender, fix all the crappy topology and inverted normals you probably have from sketchup, then export as FBX or OBJ.
Im lost…
At which part?
Hi
Download Light-Up for SketchUp - this allows you to export lit models as an FBX file.
There is a Unity import script for Light-Up FBX models that imports everything.
My trailer was created with SketchUp and LightUp : http://www.heroeskillmonsters.com/
The reason you are not seeing an option to export as .fbx or .obj, is because you are most likely using the free version of Sketchup. If you want that feature, you need to buy the pro version.
Or download PlayUp for sketchup- that works too.
Yea you can use play up tools for exporting or light up…light up is more of a lightmapping tool than a basic export but it does look nice(realistic) when you use lightup but unity already has the beast lightmapping in the indie version but its really what work flow you feel more comfortable with…im still experimenting with the workflow of sketchup to lightup to unity or sketchup to playup to unity…
