Exporting multiple animations from Daz to unity

Since Daz3d forums tend to be lacking in people who are actually knowledgeable in anything outside of making movies, and my experience for helpful people here is much better I thought I’d ask. Does anyone know how to get daz3d to export multiple animations, preferably with the name i put on there, to Unity? Right now when I put it in it just puts one in there, named Animation, and that is it.

Hmm. Since Daz exports FBX, I don’t see why it would be any different than any other modeler? You can either adjust your loops points in the Daz Timeline and export MyModel@AnimationName files separately, or you can just export the whole thing and split the different clips up in Unity 4’s model import inspector.

Thank you! that works wonderfully! Now I can actually make this game! I’ve been asking for over a month over at Daz’s Forums, and I just got the answers I needed here in one post! So much better.

Hi I tried the same and exported a character with animations to unity now I see only one large animation clip but the preview guy is not moving at all so my question is what else then just exporting the fbx from daz3d and importing it into unity3d needs to be done. I don’t have animate2 or plus only animate light.

in unity go to your model, at the top of the inspector there will be a button marked animations, within there you’ll be able to resize the animations as a whole, and mark them as separate animations

Did you remember to “Bake animation frames to Studio” ? , go to your Animate lite window right click and you’ll see that option. You have to bake the animation for it to transfer properly to unity.

Thank you all , someone else told me animate lite cannot bake the animations you have to purchase animate 2 but gscampa was right it bakes the animations over to the timeline and when exporting the model all animations are included . Last question gscampa is it possible to import fbx animations in daz3d and then bake them to the model for export ? I have tons of animations and daz3d store has not what I need. Thanks again you guys are great.

Hi, I think you can use in the middle Iclone to import FBX animations into Daz, give it a go
