Hello, i have managed to write a script to export via the command line by using a .ini file for the export options. it works great as a batch exporter, I’m hoping however to be able to export different stages of growth with this and export them to fbx file type. for example, I want to export 20 meshes starting from seedling to matured plant, is there any way to add a timeframe to my export script and export the plant at a certain stage in its age?
thanks heaps for any help.
Hi @homegrownhemp,
Thanks for your question! There are growth export options you can reference in your .ini file (see image), but growth animations can only be exported out as alembic files and not fbx. Additionally, SpeedTree growth does not “grow” a plant from seedling to mature plant; rather it “reveals” the final model.
In other words, I don’t think that SpeedTree is capable of doing what you want, but please clarify your question if I misunderstood something.
thanks for your reply. i managed to use Windows Power Automate to export via fbx. just setup a recorded automation program that can automatically export each mesh one at a time without me sitting there.
