A while ago I was making a game with Unity, the problem is that I lost the game folder with all the data inside and I spent a lot of time drawing things, things that I lost. However I have an apk from the game (pretty old, but could be useful to not lose everything) and I would like to know if there is any way to get my pictures, scripts etc back by using the mentioned apk.
I already changed it to .zip to open and see what’s inside but it doesn’t seem that simple. P
Yes it’s possible, but it requires decompilation and I’m not going to explain how to do that in a public forum, since it is the same method by which you’d illegally rip the assets from any game. If you really want to, it’s not difficult to find out how with a Google search.
Alternatively, if you’re willing to upload your APK to a website and share the link I’ll try to extract what assets I can for you. And next time, be sure to keep backups of your projects
There’s an application called “Unity Asset Extractor”.
You can decompile .asset files. BUT first, you need to do following:
Rename the .apk to .zip and extract it using e.g. 7zip.
Merge the splitted .asset files.
