Facebook Game. Time for a test?

I’ve just finished the first version of a port of an old game of mine to get it running in Facebook. If you have a minute, please pop some bubbles away right here:

So far it uses the friends list to highlight your friends highscores in the leaderboard table and posts into the news feed some post if you made it into the top 500 highscores. The game is a first step to get feet wet with Facebook integration.

Thanks
Martin

P.S. And thanks to .Tom. for his help with the FB api and his samples!!!

I would love to test it, but i have a strange problem with the viewport.

I’m running Firefox 3.5.5 on Vista 64

Very nice

But the iframe width is bugged at least on opera 10.1
It cuts the game vertically in the middle, forcing me to use the “fit to screen” feature from opera to then play a micro sized version of the game … (the vertical cut is at the same position as in the screenshot above and the resulting player size is ± exactly that iframe size we see on the sceenshot there)

Your highscore list / unity btw have some serious problems with european non-ascii letters. ASCII ↔ UTF conversion problem?

Oh yeah, I’ve had this a few times too. Reloading helped with me, but I have yet no idea why this happens.

@ dreamora: Thanks. Hah, I didn’t think of and never tested with opera. Need to do that. Thanks!

Yes! Works now fine, and is VERY addictive

If you want me to mention this in my twitter or facebook, just let me know.

Cheers–

I now tested something: I opened the frame where no player is in a new tab.

Result is that the player looks and works all fine including the add banner on a fully white page.

The problem thus is very likely the website code on the facebook end, its iframe / div setup

my guess, its this iframe enclosing tag:
<div style="position: relative; overflow: hidden"> in combination with the not so smart smartSizingFrameAdded call in the js

Really cool game, got sucked in right away :stuck_out_tongue:

@rouhee: Sure, feel free to post about it. Thanks!

Thanks, will see if I can fix that. Would be nice to get this half-size bug fixed.

Yeah, thanks for pointing out. Just saw the table was in some weird swedish iso whatever standard. Changed it now to unicode. Let’s see if that helped.

Very addictive game, I had fun playing it

Good job.

Works like a charm here, very fun

I have the same problem as Rouhee, the diference is that is not disappearing on reload.

Win 7 with FIrefox 3.5.5

Fun game, had the frame glitch or whatever as well…refresh fixed it. Also Firefox crashed once on exit, hard to know if that’s something to do with the game or what.

Was #1 on ultra there for a minute

Oh and the score flickers while playing the game.

Nice Martin, good fun! reversed bust-a-move kind of.

I just tried it in a fresh install of Safari 4.04 and the unity plug-in on OSX 10.6.2 and it keeps reloading the window not allowing me to even get the viewport.

Great game Martin!

Good to see there are more and more Unity games coming to Facebook. At some point Unity and Facebook will have to give in and give us more supporting features for integration Unity on Facebook and Facebook in Unity

I checked out your game yesterday, and one minute later was pushed away by my girlfriend. She played non-stop for 20 minutes, which is a good sign!

The highscore sadly are still bugged against german umlauts as it seems.

It reloads a lot with osx 10.6 but after a while it calms down.
Great little game. But the window that pops up after gameover is placed behind the game.

i have the same problem .
