Hi all,
I am looking for a tool to do facial animation and lip-sync in one go. So the idea is that an animation set gets exported that plays synchronous to a sound file. Basically I want to create 2D dialogue scenes with a nice lipsync and facial animations.
The software should offer a fast way to do it, means also not two separate softwares for each since that is really tedious. Ideally I would love something like the following link shows with a webcam (unfortunately the output is only video files) and the professional version only supports 3D models.
I would like to work with sources I make in live2D since somehow the process there comes closest to my idea of animating. Also it lets me rotate heads in a small angle that gives a very realistic look. I will use semi cartoonlike characters. I would like to use a semi realistic style like the one they used in “Tales of the Borderlands”. (Yes I know that game is 3D, however it is also a nice style for 2D in the looks)
If there is nothing like Facerig around, at least a tool that lets work both, face animation and lip-sync on two separated timelines compared to the waves of the sound file. If possible with manual correction options where the auto lip sync fails. I think I saw this with NaturalFront3D. Unfortunately that software is much too limited for me since it uses own assets (high polygon head mesh) and is in 3D. Also Crazytalk looks interesting, but while being less comfortable than Facerig, it also only has images or videos as output. Easytalk also look interesting, however it is also only 3D.
If no one knows anything, I would be grateful if someone could give me at least a workflow how to add facial animation and lip-sync from 2D sources so both works in harmony. I googled for days, but can’t find anything reasonable. I wish FaceRig would do unity usable outputs, since it is excellent in realism. Also there seem to be options in live2D, but as I don’t own the software (it is not very cheap) I am not sure.
I don’t mind to buy software up to perhaps 800 dollars or so, if I get a safe workflow. I just don’t like to buy software anymore before I am sure it really covers my needs.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
