Failed to copy file error when launching Editor

I have tried launching the Editor to no avail and am met with an error message. Also, Unity cannot locate it’s Uninstall.exe either so that I can reinstall it.

“C:/Program Files/Unity/Editor\Data/Resources/Packages/package.json to C:/Users/Chris/AppData/Roaming/Unity/Packages/package.json. The system could not find the file specified.”

Further more, when I try to create a new project by cancelling out of that error message, I get a new one that says:

“Build Target WindowsStandAloneSupport is not supported. Support for build target platform ‘WindowsStandAloneSupport’ is not installed. Switch to WindowsStandAloneSupport or exit Unity?”

I try to switch but it doesn’t work. Sadface.

It’s kind of weird. Something is definitely up with my Unity installation and I’d love to resolve it as I’m itching to get back to my game

Edit: Just manually uninstalled all Unity files from my hard drive. Going to give a fresh install a try.

I suggest you try using a LongPathTool program if it failed to copy due to long file names errors.
