"failed to download the installer configuration"

I received a new message when trying to install Unity 5.1.1

“failed to download the installer configuration” when i run the installation program after acceoting the EULA

and “The request timed out.
http://files.unity3d.com/bootstrapper/2046fc06d4d8/unity-5.1.1f1-osx.ini”

Any ideas? Could i just download the app itself without the installer?

Im on Mac OSX 10.9.5

I know this is an old post, but am having the same problem with Unity 2017.
