I am doing a course in Unity and at the moment I have been switching between Unity 4.6.x and Unity 5.0.x, I actually prefer working with 4.6.x rather than the newer 5. Anyway for the last 2 days I have been receiving the error in a dialog box:
“Failed to re-activate/update license”.
Reason License xml is invalid. Please try again later or contact suppost@unity3d.com
At which point I click on the “Re-Activate” button.
Now every time I turn off the computer and start Unity this occurs either version and it’s starting to get annoying entering in the details. Is there any reason as to why this should keep occurring? And is there anything I can do to stop this occurring.
I have the same problem. It is very annoying. Is it their way of forcing us to leave the version 4? Because if so it is a big mistake. I trust that is a mistake and is resolved soon.
Ditto, happening to me on 5.4.3p4 and 5.5.0p2. I have to close unity, then open it again to switch my projects, otherwise i have to enter the license every time. Closing and re-opening i don’t have the same license read issue, just when trying to switch while Unity is open.
There must be something in how the License.xml file is being written or read thats causing the issue?
Seems that the ship has righted itself, haven’t had any problems yesterday or today. And I’ve been switching between the two versions for different projects quite regularly.
