Fairly experienced with Unity, but looking for pointers on iOS development

Hi guys,

This is my first post - I’ve been working on some prototype stuff on Unity PC with eventual iphone development in mind.

I’ve reached a stage where I’d like to start previewing the project on an iOS device itself, I am completely new to apple hardware. I have with me here a Mac with the standard version of of Unity installed, the 30 day pro \ iOS trial has just been started, - the mac (as far as I can tell) already has the iOS SDK installed.

I have got an ipod touch connected via a USB cable and have successfully loaded my unity PC project into the mac version of unity which plays correctly.

Can anyone give a complete beginner some tips on what the next steps are to previewing the game on an iphone? I’ve had a quick at the iphone dev FAQ on the site but have gotten stuck pretty quickly.

I’m particularly interested in Unity Remote but really have no idea how to get started - do you need to be a registered apple developer before you can start this process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, or if there are any guides that actually explain this in depth from the perspective of a first timer that would be really useful.

Thanks again.

Hi Blue1,
Yes, before you can test your builds on an ios device you need to have a paid dev account with apple so that you can certify your device for use. It’s reasonable at £69/$99 per year though. You can register with apple here http://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/
Best of luck!

Thanks MrXYZ.
