FantaZ.com looking for Unity Developers to get paid for their games.

Hi I am new to the Unity Forum. I work for FantaZ.com. We are an online skill-based gaming site that allows players to play games of skill for money in a 100% legal environment. We have recently launched and are now moving away form our old outdated games done in mostly flash and are deploying Unity3D. If you are a game developer and would like to submit your game to be placed on our site you can receive 1% of the game play from your game. So instead of creating a game and trying to sell it, FantaZ will do all the promotion including celebrity endorsements, and you benefit! If you are interested you can email me at dshanks@fantazcorp.com.

Wow, a whole percent? What developer is nutty enough to do that?

Great question,

If you check out our site (Fantaz.com) you will see at this moment we have basic games like tetris and ballbreaker etc. These were used as tests for the sites functionality. Even so these game receive up to 250k of gameplay monthly (which would be $2,500 monthly) and we dont even promote them. By bringing in Unity3d racing, FPS, etc. the amount of gameplay will increase the gameplay significantly. We have a large international following and our game buy-ins range from .25cents to $50.00. Oh and the payout starts at 1 percent (Due to us doing all the promoting) games that see significant play will be able to eligible for more. I hope that answers your question.

Well, $2500 a month sounds interesting enough. I see that a lot (perhaps all) of the games on the site are multiplayer. Is that a requirement?

Multiplayer is not a requirement. In order for us to legally have our users play for money they must be skill-based games. This means that either players must directly play against each other with the same chances or to play by themselves against static data sets that others can then play against as well and have their scores compared.

I do love the idea of skill based monetary tournaments as a revenue source, however 1%? For every $1.00 of revenue generated the developer gets one cent? I understand that promotion is very important but how can development of a great game be worth only 1%? I would hope there is some room for negotiating on that number.

That said, you mentioned games that get significant numbers will be eligible for a higher payout percentage. What is the structure for this? What kind of numbers would be significant and how much increase could be expected?

At FantaZ we take about a thirty percent rake. Most of this goes back in to our compensation plan. While 1% doesnt sound like a lot that is of the gameplay not our rake. The gameplay for a great game is in the millions monthly. While it starts at 1% there is room to move up a couple percentage points and bonuses for gameplay numbers are also available.

Interesting to know. I will follow your platforms progress.

PS: Your website needs a redesign.
