Hello Unity3D.I have a question about importing models. What is the fastest way to import large models? Can i import the model itself and the import the animations by itself aswell? The reason i ask this question is the fact that my models have over 300 animations each and to import the model with the animation takes over an 1 hour for it to import into unity. So is there a way to reduce the time anyway at all or am i stuck with this way of importing?Any tips would do a substantial amount of help.
Yes. As long as the animations use the same bone structure as the model (and they should, since you built them together in Blender), you can import them separately and assign them to your Animation component or Animator Controller canvas afterward in Unity.
Try to save your model file without animations in Blender. If your model has the animations, you can still untick Import Animation on the Animation tab for some improvement, but it’ll still take longer than if the model doesn’t have the animations at all.
Other thoughts:
Untick Compress textures when importing. May or may not help. Remember to compress at some point before release.
Untick Edit > Preferences > General > Auto Refresh to prevent Unity from automatically checking and reimporting assets. You have to reimport them manually in this case. Not sure if this is helpful in your case.
