Fatal Error, can't get past this

Hi Unity community, I’m getting a very inhibitive fatal error on a current project. I tried to send a bug report but that too crashes, with the big red error: “error occurred while creating an archive. Error code: compression failed.”

  1. While working on a new game, fatal error pops up and basically forces Unity to quit/crash. Whilst the whole of Unity was working a bit before, suddenly it’s giving a fatal error after a long day of working at least 6 hours pretty much nonstop. After using other seemingly inoccuous/normal features fatal error occurs. Then ->Tried to save: fatal error again. Fatal error is: dataOffset != file.GetPosition()

  2. No idea how to replicate, it was a pretty complicated project at this point, but it just throws this fatal error now. This does seem to be happening “always” I just have to giev up and quit for my own health at this point, I’m calling it a day but it may be that I cannot make it function any further without getting this aforementioned fatal error.

Please show a screenshot of the error when you see it.

I get the same error when I try to switch to android platform I tried before. Worked then when I tried to build I constantly send this error message the. I fires the big reporter and that DEOS work either because the bug reporter crashes

looks to me that unity internally has some troubles finding a file. maybe you get an asset that have strange characters in the name or maybe the project/file is nested inside sub folders that break the maximum file naming limit of the operating system

THANK YOU

OK i have another question…… I am trying to place my app on the App Store threw Xcode and this is happening….its been stuck here for few hours and the App Store Connect isn’t loading on my web browser could that be an issue that Xcode isn’t connecting to the store so it’s stopping the upload?
