Fatal Error: Failed to Initialize Unity Graphics Error

I have installed unity in my home dir, yet I can’t run it with the current user.
it runs fine when im rooted.
so I thought maybe I chown the whole Editor folder. still no go.
Ive sent a bug report, Im reiterating here for further attention in the matter.
nice software by the way!

im in LinuxMint 18.2 my graphics driver is nvidia-384

I’m having the same issue in Linux Mint 18.3, Kernel 4.14.8-041408-generic, with Nvidia 390.12.

I updated to Nvidia Driver Version: 390.25, rebooted, and now it works.

I was going to mention earlier that I got a brief warning about nvidia drivers being out of date, but since you guys are on linux and I am not thought it might not be worth mentioning. That is what I get for thinking.

In the future it would be helpful to mention what version of unity you are using so some of us can help try to repeat the errors.

This happened to me today randomly. I’ve been using Unity all morning, and then suddenly re-opened my project and now this :frowning:

Windows 10 x64 latest patch, NVIDIA driver, 1080ti, Unity 5.6.5
