fbx imported anim when press key in first person controller script

I have an animation of some objects imported from 3ds. I also have a first person controller with its script. I'd like for the user to press a key and every time, some animations to play. i have no character per se, and the animations belong to different objects in the model. this is what I tried (in the firts person controller script):

function Update () {

if (Input.GetKeyDown("r"))
{

animation.Play("Brace_part03");
animation.Play("Take 001");
animation.Play("Columns Part01");

}

...

nothing happens. Animations are set up to play once when the game starts. I'd like for the user to press a key and have them play again. Thanks!

Is this script placed on your model where the animation is attached to (In other words, click on your model that has the animation on your scene. In the Inspector can you see your animation as well as your Script? If you can't see your script, then drag it into the inspector window.

With that done, just try one animation to begin with and see if that works:

function Update () {

if (Input.GetKeyDown("r"))
{

animation.Play("Brace_part03");

}

Also do you have your 'r' as a set input key? Edit > ProjectSettings > Input to customise your key inputs.

Report back on what happens with that ....

Oliver: thanks much!!! it worked by making a new script and dragging it onto the project.
