I exported the model in 3ds max, and when care pro Unity3D looks like this:

don’t export as fbx, just save the file within the Unity Assets folder. Unity does the conversion automatically.
Do you have any uncleared deformer history that could be acting strangely? This was sometimes the case when I got strange imports from Maya. I haven’t used 3DS Max, though.
Slender. ![]()
Is this a max thing?
No, you can do this for most apps (maya too), a full list can be found here:
http://unity3d.com/unity/workflow/asset-workflow
“Hit Save in Maya, 3ds Max, Modo, Cinema 4D, Cheetah3D or Blender, and Unity instantly re-imports the updated asset and applies changes across the entire project.”
This has been possible since at least Unity 2.6, which is when I started using Unity, it’s one of the main reasons I liked Unity.
Sadly, softimage is missing for this… and nothing happened when I saved my scene into my project folder… guess it’s back to FBX for me
dont work ![]()
Is the rig one of the standard ones (CAT, Biped) or is it custom?
Is it in T-Pose at any point?
How many vertices are affected by each bone (you can find this under the skin modifier)?
Have you Reset XForm on the model prior to skinning?
Have you scaled the mesh or any of the bones?
Have you checked bake animation in the import settings?
The fastest way would be to get a copy of the file.
Send via pm if you can, else we have to go through a whole list of issues.
I discovered my biped has 5 fingers, but my mocap (animation) only animates a finger ![]()
I rig the mixamo not know how to delete the other fingers ![]()
you have to enter figure mode in 3dsmax. this allows you to edit the rig and remove said fingers, but this isn’t creating your problem.
the extra fingers would just stay in their default pose.
Help plix ![]()
well the problem has nothing to do with Unity. You need to skin (adjust the weights) of the fingers
within the skin modifier.

Its looks like I better invest in Modo :/… the scene from Softimage didn’t auto import any models…
