Feedback on muse 0.3.1

  • too much noise in maps, textures feels like going through puberty issues on the surface.
  • negative prompts dont seems to work
  • upscale to 2k yet feels still pixelated, no way to generate 4k
  • muse dont understand normal maps direction (maybe give us a way to generate which is up)
  • metallic maps generate wrong. i was trying to do a Kintsugi cracks on marble, where the white is on the gold rather than on the marble

Thanks for the feedback @SSm19! We almost have the next version of the model ready to deploy which has reduced noise in the outputs.

I tested negative prompts just now with a few concepts and they seemed to work, can you please provide an example of a case where it is failing for you?

For upscaling we are testing multiple versions of the model at the moment and it is constantly being improved on. We are exploring upscale to 8k but this will likely require some infrastructure changes due to the large file sizes.

The exported materials are pre-configured with a shader that allows you to adjust the height and the normals will be recalculated based on the height modifier. If you set it to a negative value it will flip them. For the metallic map it came out nicely in this case for me (HDRP) but is a bit hit or miss, although most failure cases seem to be solvable by inverting the map colors. We are working on improving the metal and roughness maps still

hello Alex,
for negative prompts, what are your prompts?
as im usually using built-in pipeline in most of my projects, i have no use for displacement & roughness maps.
the maps generated i would have to use photoshop to flip R,G for normal maps & invert the metallic map
my tile is also usually fixed at 1x1, if i were to use 10x10 then pixelation & noise are usually fixed

Unity created their own reddit

Will check out SRP some more with the team and see if we can improve the workflow.

For the negative prompts I tested I used color as it is easiest to see the effects and the model has a solid grasp on color concepts for the most part.

Top row : “blue”
Middle row: “green”
Bottom row: no negative prompt

I did some more tests with the shape/pattern control enabled and the negative prompt seemed to have minimal effect in those cases. We will investigate further and see if it can be improved.
