Few friends at a time

I want to make a multiplayer game where I would be able to connect to a few friends at a time. I was wondering if this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quxZ3DCtjuI that I found on youtube would work. I typed in “unity multiplayer tutorials” and that was the first video that came up.

I’d like to make the game and distribute it to my friends and have them connect to me. I was just wondering if that video from Youtube would work?
