Sorry for posting a non Unity herad, but I am looking for a great video recording software for your desktop. I use Screenium, among others but find them too demanding for my little old iMac. So, wheni film game sequences, it is choppy. So, any recommendations?
Are you talking about selecting your game windows and recording the activity like CamTasia does?
I’m using CamStudio on Windows there is a osX version too. It works fine on PC.
Hm. Ok, will check it out. I need something with little overhead. As I say, Screenium seems to demanding of memory with Unity running the game.
I think that’s because they are capturing uncompressed sound and images and then encoding that and writing on the fly. Tell it to save raw if it can or the least compressed codec it will use and then encode it on PC later if you need to. And have plenty of free diskspace.
My PC is just a i5 Sandy Bridge version not one of these water-cooled Alien Game rig things so you should be OK with any nVidea, ATI, or Intel HD Graphics or newer.
Are those just computer software, graphics specific? Not a film software eh! Anyhow, thanks.

You video card is heavily used to decode and encode videos! So your video card capabilities matter, it’s just not for games. It’s been years since I software only decoders/encoders were more common.
