Which shader editor?
I use the packaged MonoDevelop.
Maybe I’m just getting more brain dead in my old age.
In what way is it less forgiving? My understanding is that MonoDevelop only has rudimentary support for Shaderlab/Cg. It basically does syntax highlighting.
