[First Android Release] Beach Ball Blast

Hey everyone, I’m a bit new here… but have been scouting out Unity3D and all it has to offer for awhile. My company, which will expand… but is at the moment consistant of my brother Jeff and I. We just released our first title ever, something simple, but challenging. It goes by the name “Beach Ball Blast”.

In simple terms, a set of boats off the beach, shoot out Beach Balls which gain you points. You have to pop them with touch, and swipe away Firecrackers, which explode and end the game. Any health lost from missed Beach Balls, can be gained back if you spot and touch a piece of food.

We have integrated our own Leaderboards, that interact with our website http://www.beachballblast.com as well as viewable in our game itself.

There is a free (http://bit.ly/R04jDL) and paid version (http://bit.ly/PfSxqq). Free includes ads, and both include new mode releases, graphical enhancements, and bug fixes. The paid version will also include new modes and addons that will not exist in the free mode.

Take a look, give us some feedback if you can. We definitely have bigger plans for the future, new games, and going more towards a “hardcore” style, but for now… we wanted to make something with appeal to the mobile market, that was inline with the kind of resources we could get and provide.

Thanks you!

Jason

I gave the game a try, thought it worked well for the most part. The graphics are clean, and look good. I didn’t find the game challenging (I was able to tap the dynamite to get rid of it, instead of swiping, so pretty much the game began to be: tap anything that moves towards you).

When I was not connected to the internet, the game said that my score was submitted (which presumably it was not), and ads after a match were just black screens (I’d suggest changing that, or checking to make sure you have an ad loaded before displaying it).

It would be nice for the beach balls to do something when you tap them (maybe scale up to 125% of their size before “popping”).

Thank you ncst, good suggestions. They all seem to make legit sense, and I do like your idea on the beach balls as well. I’ll see what I can come up with here shortly. Really helps. Haven’t had much suggestions yet, as no one else that I know if, are developers who has played. Helps to hear from someone else who is.

Not a problem (though, I don’t know if I count as a developer =) If you’re looking for more feedback, I’d suggest also asking friends and family if they would be interested in play testing. You can also post on other forums (or reddit/similar), but I’d expect a similar level of feedback (in my experience).
