Thats the main problem with fishing games is that they are boring, which i intend to cut out by including different aspects to the game, i wouldnt want anyone to sit in front of a screen waiting for a bite now that is sad lol.
You start out as a nobody and work your way up in the ranks, you are never alone on the lakes cpu anglers will be present for you to fish against, bit hard to explain on here sorry. You can gain sponsorships get in the news magazines and get invited to one off comps.
You can even sneak round to another fisherman cpu or friend at night and sabatage there gear while they sleep! (not sure on this feature yet see how it goes lol).
The gameplay will put a slight pressure on you to catch fish, otherwise fishing games dont work, its still early days but i thought i would share what im up to.
Theres still lots to go in, shops, boats, mini games, and much more to make sure it doesnt get boring.
Allow users to create boats…They go chop down trees, use the wood to make boats…More experience they have with boat making, and wood cutting, the better and longer distances they can go away from shore…
Allow also the same idea people to create there own poles and tackle. Maybe even go hunt for worms, or what not.
Let users buy in some way a fish finder? They will get funds by the poles they make and sell to a vendor NPC…
Also, maybe even put some sort of hunting option…A bear, squirrel, deer etc. If the user dont feel like fishing, allow them to go out and pew pew some animals. Also going along with the fishing, now they can create guns, bows, ammo?
Award trophys for fish, and possible hunt kills? This will give incentive. “You’ve caught a 10lb bass”. Now the user will try to catch bigger bass. “You’ve shot a bear, 90lbs of meat”. Now they want the 100 lbs. =o) I wish you luck!
Just a few ideas…Fishing in one spot maybe boring, but as a World of Warcraft player, I’ve done it…=o) Even though the rewards were small.
