First Person 3D Exploration/Chat Client

This is the idea. The game is basically an FPS (without the “S”). It is an MMO in the making, but I’m no good at the networking part of it all…

I have a chat script for the M2H tutorials, and if I have two instances running on the same machine, the messages send fine. But if I have instances running on two different machine, the two don’t even connect…

Also, when they do connect on the same machine, I have an empty GO with an instantiation script, but for some reason, whenever a new player is instantiated, things get messed up. How do I set it up so that the players can see each other and the control inputs remain seperate? Please send me a private message…I hate having to track down a thread thats several days old…

Especially when they were posted in the wrong forum.

Quietus - That’s okay, Grady’s still waiting for the PM that explains everything he needs to know about multi-player networking. He won’t see your note about this being the wrong forum. Hasn’t shown up in the right forum, so he must have unchecked “Notify me when a reply is posted”. Do you think he will hate having to track down this days-old thread?

Make sure your router is port-forwarded and your firewall allows the program. Google search how to do that. Port forwarding is one of the top reasons programs dont connect.
