First Person Controller Prefab Shadows

I am working on a little island to use as a test area and placed the first person controller prefab into it. When I move around the landscape the controller is casting a large shadow, how can I adjust, remove this shadow please?

Does the controller need a light attached?

I have looked through the tutorials and manual but I might be missing the information. Thank you!

Disable “Cast Shadows” in the Inspector for the Graphics Mesh Renderer in the First Person Controller… or uncheck the Mesh Renderer altogether.

This is the only thread I have found on the issue, the solution above did not help me.

For removing the shadow cast by the controller it should and does, I just tested.

If you’re inside Skybox, remove Cast Shadows checkbox.
