STORY - may change

Story of our game is very interesting, player is a woman , 30 years old and has job as science test engineer. Scene is going to be mysterious island. Time period is 1980 - 1995.
For story… i really can’t give you guys much since i want story to be unique and kept secret until release. But here one of the dialogs :

“Everything was fine at morning , since i fell asleep at work and slept over to evening, i realize nothing is the same anymore… i mean it’s either alarm or my headache. I should get going.”

GAMEPLAY

Game is going to be full of puzzles and very intensive story telling, we are gonna give our best as animations and make game feel unique on our style. You are not gonna see zombies , and big guns. We have better solution for that :slight_smile: Wait and see.

WHO ARE WE ?

Our team has two members. Me and my fiancee. We both have very strong feeling about puzzle games and share a huge idea list for our game. We are 21-22 years old. I have 6 years history of programming, and i study more as hobby. In real life im Electrician guy :slight_smile: Soon going to university of applied sciences. My fiancee are truly artist, she has graduated from art/design high school and she has painted stuff long as she has lived. Updates,

We started to write story today. I finished inventory and then i writed Quest system. Every quest has very detailed description EXCEPT IN THIS PIC :smile: see picture ( Open pic in new windows to see it bigger )

I also made possible to open drawers and fridge door with mouse. Doors are also behaving same way.

This looks great so far. Here comes the next Slender!

After taking a look at your pictures, I can say that this looks pretty cool. I’m impressed mostly with the models and the inventory system. I do, however, dislike the objective screen. One thing I think you should keep in mind when making this game is that if the player’s goals and motives are artificial (you have to tell him what to do with a little screen) he is not going to be held in such a deep state of suspension of disbelief. I’d suggest a more subtle way of giving goals to the player, such as having his avatar mumble something like: “Keys… where are the keys?”

I’m excited to watch this game grow and become more complete!

Hello Aspiring_Failure! You are right, currently quest objectives are far too specific and we are working on with them hard as we can. As you talkd about mumbling… its cool idea :slight_smile: Currently we stick with quest log and we are trying to show active quests there as simple as we can. Game is going to have many cut scenes , and “mumbling icons” because i like good story telling.

Tech demo release!

We are happy to accounse very first public tech demo! It shows you some basic functionality of game. There are level builded just for this demo and i made little “Quest” line for it. There is no textures, effects, anything glamour in this demo. Just some functionality :slight_smile:

Short update for you guys

  • adjusted walking speed about 100% more by comments what we have got by players.
  • Our team name and new logo banner is soon ready
  • Scenes is heavily under work now and we have designed 40% of map allready. Now we are trying to get very detailed and anxious feeling to every scene.
  • Players feedback were very positive, we got many good ideas and suggestions to improve gameplay and we added new function to game : Item dragging by mouse

Story update

Story is getting more deep, we are going to include egypt, babylon and some conspiracy theory on story. Im updating topic as i get more time on my hands.

Begining of the game is done, we are going to think about puzzle and stuff, best puzzle idea from this forum will be included on the game ! We are not gonna tell which one we choose, but you will see it in game ! So, tell us puzzle what you want to play !

I like the concept and it looks good. Hopefully a horror survival with actual horror and requires survival. Survival as in conservation and using strategy and tactics and thinking rather than aim and kill. But I’ll definitely be watching this. As for a puzzle; how about an entrance puzzle and possibly timed while being hunted?

We also love this game concept, that’s one think what motivates us ! This game is not going to have shooting, player must survive and solve main problem… which is still secret :wink: Story is very intensive… as i can say… im story writer !
