First person puzzle platformer made with unity: Alien Video Game Scientist

Announcing my my aggressively retro/minimalist 3d puzzle platformer, made with Unity 2022/URP, just released Dec 4th on steam:

Unfortunately , it seems like people see my aggressively minimalist style as “low effort” so I’m getting very little sales. For that reason I definitely regret some of my art choices now, as it absolutely wasn’t low effort (over a year in the making).

Other than a paid skybox asset, it’s all custom, from the “art” to the code. I’m using a customized version of the Unity CharacterController, which is 620 lines (perhaps I should have split that up better), otherwise it’s all fairly standard out of the box stuff. I use the steamworks.net package for leaderboards and achievements.

~40 levels, all laid out in the Unity editor, with a little bit of probuilder shapes. Textures are mostly pseudo wireframe (tron-like) made in an old version of photoshop but any paint tool could have done it. For “lava” and a few other things I used shadergraph.
