I love unity I have used it in past and it is amazing, but as you guys know it costs $1500 so before buying I would like to ask a few questions to satisfy my needs in order to start my android development.
Does unity 3D directly make games for android or do you need any extra plugins or so??
Since android is Java and Unity is (JavaScript, C#, Boo), how does it work? All I have to know is JavaScript or I need to know Java too.?
Once I buy the product for how long would I receive updates on that particular version as new ones keep coming out?
Is Unity just the game engine or it can be used for 3D modeller?
Is Unity 3D hard than compared to other game engines out there?
Do I need to pay Unity a fee everytime I release a game in the android market?
Unity Free costs $0, which includes the Android Basic license. Since it looks like you’re wanting to export to Android, in order to get the pro features for that platform you would need to purchase Unity Pro + Android Pro for a total of $3000.
Unity is all you need to make apps for Android. You can buy plugins to extend the functionality, but that’s optional.
You do not need to know Java, Unity takes care of that for you. All you need to know if one of Unity’s three languages. Note that Unity JavaScript is not the same as Web JavaScript.
You would receive updates until the next major version is released. Right now Unity is selling pre-orders for Unity 5, which also gets you access to a Unity 4 license. A new major version of Unity usually comes out every two years or so.
Unity is just the game engine.
I’d say it is one of the easiest engines out there, and has one of the best collections of tutorials/documentation I’ve seen.
what if I just wanted the android license and not the pro features as I am a beginner wanting to learn and pay as I earn from what I make so… basic license is what might help me out.??
