First Tree Made with Unity 3 Tree Creator

Updated Screenshots and Trees:
This is my first tree made with the Unity 3 Tree Creator. I’m trying to go for an Oblivion style tree, even though they used speed tree. I think it turned out pretty good, but I’m sure I can tweak it once I get more familiar with the tree creator.

In my opinion, I hate Unity’s trees because they’re so unrealistically small; like 8 feet tall. Trees in Oblivion are very realistic because they’re tall like real trees. That’s why I made my trees about a scale 40-50 feet tall.

If anyone can give me some feedback it’d be appreciated.

Thanks

They look nice.

Did you make them lean that way intentionally?

And where did you get the skybox / clouds. Are they dynamic?

Thank, yes I made lean intentionally because no tree is perfectly straight. And the skybox/clouds came with Unity 3, but they aren’t dynamic.

If you are using sprite leaves, are you getting the same problem as me? The bounds aren’t correct for the billboards :frowning:

I didn’t use billboard sorry.

Updated trees with new screenshots

Those look great! It’s probably getting to the point where you need to place them in context next to other environment props.

I’m looking for unity 3 plants (trees, grass, etc) or nice settings.
My trees are not game-compatible (looking bad) :sunglasses:

Hi Duke,
Did you solve the billboard problem ? I’m getting exactly the same issue: seems that billboards are clipped by a rectangular shape, using only a part of the foliage…

No I didn’t but I submitted a bug a while ago when I first found it:

Hi Duke,

I’ve just found that the graphic emulation mode is involded: switching to another mode than “No emulation” did the trick, as well as the RENAMING of the tree. Any tree with “tree” in its name or with the same name as another tree would not work.:stuck_out_tongue:
