This is my first attempt. 90% of the work was using/learning modelling tools. Unity itself was pretty darn simple!

Wow! That’s really great for your first thing. I tried doing a bowling thing one evening and I couldn’t get the physics tweaked right at all. You did a really good job with that! (Always room for perfection, but that’s simulation for ya)
You might want to play with making the lighting more dramatic. (Point lights are good for this I think)

that’s awesome, I like it very simple. Add some table on the side so I can put my beer. ![]()
Looks and plays really well. One thing I suggest is making the launch cursor fixed in the middle and rotate left and right. That way you can get gutterballs. Also add a power gauge to determine how hard you’re throwing. Then it’ll be perfect.
Thats really great for a first try!
I would make it more realistic by letting the player chose the angle, position and rotation of the ball carefully before throwing but keep it hard by making the ball go funny ways and keep the camera from being directly in the center, aimed perfectly forward. That would make it too easy. A reflection of some variety on the wood would be really tight.
Thank you for your comments all! They were certainly encouraging. I also appreciate all the advice on how the project can be improved. However, this was made to be a throw-away project, so I won’t be taking it any further than this. I’ve already got my hands dirty with another project, I’ll post something when it’s in a more playable state!
That would be one cool widget!
Nice!
Is it possible to get gutter balls?
No you can’t get a gutter ball. The physics would support one if the ball would fall in the gutter, but you can’t angle the ball, nor give it any spin, so it just won’t happen.
I took this little game to a point where I said to myself, “hey, I’m just not going to learn much more going any further with this project”, so I scrapped it and moved on to something else:)
BTW If anyone is curious as to how I got the physics of bowling to work well… It’s quite simple really, go on a bowling regulations website, get all the dimensions and weights, create your scene accordingly, and it just works out!
Hi Dafu…,
I am new to unity…
i wanna advance and enhance the game as you put here…
may i access/get the unity source of the game please…
Regards,
Javed
Can we have a windows build?
Lol, 4 years later
Gravediggers… >.<
