Footage is a bit dated so it’s missing some of the new artwork

I love what you can do with the wheels. That totally adds something refreshing for a change. Nice work !
I was always a bit sceptical from your posted screenshots only, but in motion it looks really sweet !
Wondering how you did your leveldesign ? Can you elaborate on that a bit ?
Game looks really interesting and different, but that music is terrible to the point of distracting from the game.
I built a level editor (hope to release it in an update so users can create/share levels) – you just click to place vertices to draw shapes and it’ll generate the 3D mesh for collisions etc (saved as .xml file). The background objects (clouds, hot air balloons) are chosen and placed at random (within the relative bounds of the level). The foliage (trees, bushes, flowers) are placed procedurally – it checks if the terrain is flat enough and has enough room, then randomly picks one of them to spawn. Each time the user loads a level it will vary in terms of what plants are in what locations and what’s in the background. I mainly went this route to save me time (I’m the only one working on this game) – I haven’t decided if I’ll end up pushing the procedural art stuff more or if I’ll take a more manual approach to level decorations.
edit: It’s also worth noting that since recording that footage, I’ve made improvements to how the levels look – replacing some of the very polygonal shapes with things that look more natural.
