Please pledge as well!

My team and I are in the process of building a new fitness app that gives people things that no other fitness app can. An app that uses 3d Video Game tech.

The concept of this app is to use technology in such a way as to give people in the gym a tool to learn correct form and explain why they feel pain in a joint before it becomes a full blown injury. It is also to help people new to fitness feel more comfortable about training in the gym and avoid the pitfalls of bad form. In other words good for new comers and good for experienced professionals who don’t want to see a small pain turn into surgery down the road. I always thought that a quick look aid in the gym during a workout would be monumental. This is especially for people who feel a pinch or pain during an exercise and want to quickly understand what exactly they did to cause that and what it means to their body so they could avoid it in their next set.

The 3D components of the app are designed to bring a better view to performing exercises that is otherwise not possible with video examples on other apps and popular websites. The 3D view will allow the user to rotate or zoom around the exercise and view it from any angle as though you were viewing another person performing the exercise in front of you in real life. This helps to eliminate the possible mistakes that can happen from viewing the exercise from only one perspective as you would in a video or photo. To delve even deeper, the app allows you to see things that you can’t in real life. For example, it allows you to view the exercise in an “x-ray vision” mode. From an orthopedic standpoint, this mode not only allows you to see how the skeleton should move during an exercise, but also highlights the muscles that are used during the exercise. For added clarity the highlighted muscles are also color coded in order to display how much force or function each muscle should be using during the exercise. This was all possible due to the use of real-time 3D to simulate the exercises being performed.

The app also attempts to replace the need for a note book in the gym by enabling people to create weekly routines, diets, track statistics, as well as take notes per exercise. The idea is to enable people to use this app as the center of their workout. Where most fitness apps fail in presentation, ease of use, speed, and creativity, I am hoping to bring a streamlined approach that does not get in the way of the actual workout. This is an app made by fitness enthusiasts who also happen to be developers. The goal is to improve the work out, not get in the way of the workout like other apps do by wasting time.

I am posting here on this forum to hear your opinions or suggestions! Would be great to find some supporters and followers as well!

I am very soon going to launch a kickstarter crowd funding campaign to help get this app fully built. We have working prototypes that work on most devices including very old phones. We came up with some interesting techniques to handle transparency and make it run great on a mobile device. Honestly that is going to be one of our Rewards on kickstarter. A document that illustrates and talks about all the plugins, steps taken to get this thing built and running properly even on old as dirt devices. We hope to bring it to Iphone/ipad devices, android, as well as windows phone. The only way to get this app fully funded is through people wanting it bad enough. That means spreading the word and liking us on facebook. Here is a link to our Kickstarter promotional video as well as our facebook page.

When the kickstarter campaign becomes active I will post the link here as well as on facebook. If your interested in backing it you will be one of the first ones to have it and may even possibly get access to the beta versions. Any amount past our goal will go toward adding new features that you the community wants! It all depends how many have an interest in a product like this and how many can help get the word out. I have also attached some prototype screenshots. More can be found at http://www.mindped.com.

I like that you have common mistakes section there
I always hurt my wrists or something
Why not add some inhaling/breathing sounds/anims for newbies so that they would know when and how to breathe

Interesting idea. Ill think about that for the future. Maybe even some sort of way to visualize the breathing to let people know when to breath. And yes my app would definently be for you.

The kickstarter campaign is now live! Please share on your social media pages! And please help get this thing built :). Thank you!
