Fix the bug : Can't decompress package !

Hi,

For all people have the bug : “Can’t decompress package”, I have found the solution !

Create a folder like “MyGames” in C:\ (At the root) and create your project in the folder.

Thanks

What bug is this? Have you filed a bug report? :eyes:

I went to search for more information and Google had already indexed this thread. :hushed:

This bug appear when you want to import package from asset store or custom asset (sometimes).

etc…

So i dont know why but I think Unity can’t access in some folder (Documents/Download … for me)

Thank you. It works. I can finally get started.

Is anyone still having this problem? I still cannot import any package from the asset store. I’ve tried everything

What do you mean “at the root”?

@PuppetMaster13 Root directory, like C:\MyGames as opposed to a subdirectory C:\Users\MyName.… I’m not familiar with this issue, just adding to your comment

Okay, I tried that, it still wasn’t able to do it?

Yes I’ve got this problem to

I’m getting this same bug Karl. It’s not allowing me to download Oculus Integration.

I found a solution to my problem. It appears by ZIP file was corrupted and Unity doesn’t have a way to re-download the file so I had to do it manually.

I navigated to:
%APPDATA%\Unity\Asset Store-5.x

Then deleted the package that wasn’t importing
Restarted Unity editor
In the asset store, I redownloaded and imported the package

How do they not have something built in by now to at LEAST open the folder were its all stored…

Just wait while it decomposes , you could porbably watch a movie or 2 while it extracting the package in UNITY!

Yup this fixes it. Delete Oculus from C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store-5.x. Then reopen Unity, redownload and import.
