Hi everyone, I got a problem on my laptop. All Linux beta release were working perfectly on my laptop until… huh today. I’ve opened the Editor, and I saw all my Scene tab completly black. I did not posted this in my bug report because it’s only happening on my latptop. I’ve already had some OpenGL issues on it so it may be related to that and not to the Unity Editor itself, as everything in it works.
I had some problems with OpenGL after an nVidia driver update. Minecraft was saying “No OpenGL context found” but Unity was working. Today I’ve installed the package “freeglut3” ( or anything like this ) from the Ubuntu website and now OpenGL works fine, but Unity still doesn’t work. Anybody know a solution ? I repeat this bug is not related to the editor but to my laptop. The software ran fine until today for no reasons. Thanks for reading me
Edit: Forget to put a screenshot to show you what’s happening. I can see the cube I created in the game tab but not in the Scene tab
Heh… try closing the game view and see if anything appears. I just ran into someone who had issues with the game view freezing with the scene tab open. (Maybe related?)
The way I solved this was to go to xorg drivers, make sure all the priority driver stuff is installed. Then reinstall priority drivers
I’ve had to do this every update. unity seems to do something strange, like it doesn’t see drivers unless they are installed after unity. Very odd

…And again, this doesn’t seem to happen to me. (In fact, I often over-worry about some unity bugs, but then on the day I take a look at it, it’s running fine on my machine, an old Sandy Bridge system!)
Sorry for not responding earlier. Yesterday, I’ve done some basic updates for Ubuntu and now the Unity Editor works fine, the Scene tab is no more black. I can’t explain what wouldn’t work… Maybe an update broke something and this update fixed it.
IFF your scene looks fine in Game view, or when you Play, then you may need to toggle the Skybox on. There is an icon with “layers and a star” next to the audio icon.
